2011 Chicago Cubs

With little wiggle room under the salary cap, your Chicago Cubs managed to make a number of moves in the offseason.  Whether those moves will pan out is yet to be determined.  Signed to the team in the offseason were Carlos Pena, Angel Guzman, Scott Moore, Kerry Wood, Reed Johnson, Lou Montanez and Todd Wellemeyer.  In trades, the Cubs and the Tampa Bay Rays made a nine player trade sending Chris Archer, Robinson Chirinos, Brandon Guyer, Sam Guld and Hak-Ju Lee to Tampa for Matt Garza, Fernando Perez and Zachary Rosscupp.

While there are still questions about a true leadoff hitter and right field the team feels it’s pitching is the team’s best feature with LHP Sean Marshall compiling 80 appearances, 90 strikeouts and 7 victories in 2010; all three setting or tying career bests.
